Introduction

By kicking off this blog, I wanted to first tell the world who we are, what this blog will be about and why we decided to start this blog.

My name is Greg Bouslog (Boz) and I recently received my masters degree from Western Illinois University in sport management. I was a graduate assistant for two years in the media services department. I worked with women’s soccer, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis. I got to travel a lot of places with women’s basketball with the highlight of the season being a visit to Lawrence and Allen Fieldhouse.

Before Western, I spent four years at Monmouth College, receiving a double major in public relations and communications. I also played four years of varsity tennis.

My partner in crime in starting this blog is Ben Leuck. Ben was a communications student with me at Monmouth for two years before transferring to Augustana College to finish his education. While at Monmouth, he also competed on the golf team.

After Augustana, Ben spent a year as a radio play-by-play announcer for the women’s basketball team at Radford University, which included a trip to Wake Forest.

This blog is going to be formatted like the ESPN show “Pardon the Interruption”, a show that both of us enjoy watching. We’ll start each show by each giving our opinion on four different headlines. Then, like on PTI, we’ll play a game like toss up, odds, over/under, etc. However, we’ll also choose winners for games such as NFL, college football and basketball and other playoff games such as MLB and NBA. We’ll finish each blog with “Happy Hour” where we choose our favorite athlete who has a birthday on that day or our favorite sports anniversary that happened on that day.

Neither Ben or I are sports writers, even though I did do an internship as one once. However, we are two major sports fans who will debate sports whenever we get a chance so we figured we might as well do something productive with it.

We encourage you to respond (cleanly) to our opinions and let us know what you think. We’re going to start the real part of the blog tomorrow with the game being toss-up.

Thanks for tuning in and we both hope that you enjoy.
